Vuokraturva’s objectives

Vuokraturva is a leading expert in property investment and a market leader in mediating rental apartments. It plays an active social role to increase the number of apartments available for rent.

We are constantly developing new services for lessors and prospective tenants, with the aim of helping to find suitable rental apartments and making rental easy and pleasant.

Registration

We highly recommend you register with Vuokraturva as an applicant. By registering, you can look at the apartments you are interested in before they go on show.

We will send you email with information and photographs of the latest apartments available for rent. Instead of crowds of people trying to view an apartment, advance showings give you the opportunity to view an apartment in a small group where we can give you even better personal service.

We have developed the system in cooperation with Vuokralaisten Keskusliitto (the Finnish central union of tenants).

Renting an Apartment the Vuokraturva Way

We first show all apartments to prospective tenants before the apartments are leased. Everybody is equally entitled to view and apply for an apartment during a showing. We do not reserve apartments for anyone beforehand.

You are welcome to the showings. Just come, you do not need to register!

If you cannot come to the showings, you can ask a friend to come for you.

Showings

Showings are short and generally take about 15 minutes. Our agents have several showings one after another, so they have to keep to their schedule. It is therefore vital to be on time, as being late might mean that you are unable to view the apartment.

Before a showing, our agent meets applicants by the main door at the address specified. Please be on time because our agent will take all applicants to see the apartment at the given time. The apartments often have tenants still living in them, so we do not use signs on the road that would attract passers by.

Our agent will answer your questions during the showing. Everyone interested in the apartment fills out an application at the showing and our agent will collect the applications at the end.

Choice of tenant

Our agent interviews applicants and checks their background and credit standing. He then presents the applicants to the lessor of the apartment in question, who makes the final choice. The tenant chosen is usually informed the following day.

Applicants can improve their chances of getting an apartment by giving the name of a guarantor for the rent. The guarantor may be the applicant’s parents or employer.

Signing the lease agreement

After the lessor has chosen a tenant, the agent and the tenant agree on the practical arrangements. The new tenant comes to Vuokraturva’s office to sign the lease agreement. During our meeting, we once more go through everything you need to know concerning tenancy.

Relocation services

Vuokraturva offers relocation services for apartment applicants and companies. The service is available for a fee and it is ideal for highly busy people or for people moving from abroad who are seeking an apartment and have good credit standing. Click HERE to go to our relocation pages.
