Both the tenant and the landlord can use this template to terminate the tenancy agreement. The terminating party fills in, prints and signs this notification of termination and delivers it provenly to the other party. The information submitted with the form will not be saved on Vuokraturva’s customer information system or forwarded on.

For a non-fixed-term lease, the notice period of the tenant is one calendar month.

If the first possible date for giving notice has been agreed in a tenancy agreement prior to October 2026, the notice period can start no earlier than that date. The landlord must give a reason for termination, but the tenant doesn't need to.

When a landlord terminates a non-fixed-term tenancy agreement, the notice period depends on the duration of the tenancy up to that point, and on whether the tenancy agreement was concluded prior to or after the changes to landlord’s notice periods concerning termination that entered into force in October 2026 (i.e., which statutory landlords’ notice periods apply to the tenancy agreement).

In tenancy agreements concluded in or after October 2026, the notice period for termination of an agreement by a landlord is four calendar months, provided that the tenancy has lasted without interruption for a minimum of two years. Otherwise, it is three calendar months.

In tenancy agreements concluded prior to October 2026, the notice period for termination of an agreement by a landlord is six calendar months, provided that the tenancy has lasted without interruption for at least one year. In other cases, the notice period is three calendar months, unless agreed otherwise.
